Fundamental CAD algorithms

چکیده
Computer-aided design (CAD) tools are now making it possible to automate many aspects of the design process. This has mainly been made possible by the use of effective and efficient algorithms and corresponding software structures. The very large scale integration (VLSI) design process is extremely complex, and even after breaking the entire process into several conceptually easier steps, it has been shown that each step is still computationally hard. To researchers, the goal of understanding the fundamental structure of the problem is often as important as producing a solution of immediate applicability. Despite this emphasis, it turns out that results that might first appear to be only of theoretical value are sometimes of profound relevance to practical problems. VLSI CAD is a dynamic area where problem definitions are continually changing due to complexity, technology and design methodology. In this paper, we focus on several of the fundamental CAD abstractions, models, concepts and algorithms that have had a significant impact on this field. This material should be of great value to researchers interested in entering these areas of research, since it will allow them to quickly focus on much of the key material in our field. We emphasize algorithms in the area of test, physical design, logic synthesis, and formal verification. These algorithms are responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of a variety of CAD tools. Furthermore, a number of these algorithms have found applications in many other domains.

Deep learning-based CAD systems for mammography: A review article
Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in women. Screening mammography is a low‑dose X‑ray examination of breasts, which is conducted to detect breast cancer at early stages when the cancerous tumor is too small to be felt as a lump. Screening mammography is conducted for women with no symptoms of breast cancer, for early detection of cancer when the cancer is most treatable an...
متن کاملParallel GPU Algorithms for Interactive CAD/CAM Operations
We have developed hybrid CPU/GPU algorithms that utilize the GPU to accelerate Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) operations and facilitate interactive control and feedback to the designer. Our GPU accelerated algorithms helps the designer in performing modeling operations like direct sketching and interactive trimming on Non Uniform Rational BSpline (NURBS) surf...
متن کاملToward CAD-IP Reuse: The MARCO GSRC Bookshelf of Fundamental CAD Algorithms
Free reuse of code and other types of intellectual property in CAD can be in the mutual interests of commercial EDA vendors, captive CAD organizations, and academic researchers as they together address the "Design Technology Productivity Gap". We discuss the productivity and cultural needs that motivate a community-wide emphasis on CAD-IP reuse, then de ne what constitutes CAD-IP. We describe a...

Lung cancer is one of the most serious health problems in the world. Lung Computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) is a potential method to accomplish a range of quantitative tasks such as early cancer and disease detection, analysis of disease progression. Edge detection in Lung image is a fundamental step in CAD system and many algorithms have suggested for edge detection in image. In this paper a new ...
متن کاملDevelopment of CAD Algorithms for Bezier Curves/Surfaces Independent of Operating System
-Most of the CAD software, which are available currently, works only on the operating system (generally windows) for which they are designed. Alternatively, the commercial CAD software is dependent upon the operating system. If CAD software is designed such that it is Independent of the operating system, then such CAD software will be much beneficial for the present scenario of the CAD software...
